They told you : “Fuck conformity, be your own sky.”
They dressed you in laughter, and bathed you in lies.
They told you: “Let’s get out of here, be your own me!”
They gave you a colored hat and set you to sea.
“Hey, friends, sparks all around!”
“Who could ever stop us, when we’re heaven-bound?”
It felt like the stars smiled from their sparkly sockets;
Drifting on brightly shining rockets,
Candies and smiles bursting from your pockets.
They told you: “Follow me to happy days!”
“There they lie, just beyond the sun’s rays.”
Close your eyes, and bend down your head,
No more time for silliness and dread!
Let me take you, bring smiles and pretty eyes
You’ll come with me, if you be wise.”
And they wrapped their talons around your lips,
Drunk to happiness and swung your hips.
Round and round, round again!
No need to wonder, no need to explain.
And one day, when you’re cold and stiff,
When finally you’ve tumbled down that cliff,
When women will spread roses on your bed,
Lamentations uttered, duly tears shed,
They’ll play trumpets over your grave,
“What a pity,” they’ll sing, and part with a wave.
For this the cruel song, of pretty balloons,
Fed to so many bullied buffoons:
O’er duty he watched, and was his own sky,
Too bad you forget, you live, and you try,
You give and you take, you bring and you buy,
You see and you hear, and they tell you to lie,
But all of these thing, no matter how sly,
Will fade, burn, decay, and eventually die.”

You definitely have a talent.
It was just so easy to read and conjured up some beautiful images in my mind. To me that is what a good poem should do.(It doesn't matter if you aren't sure what it is about either).
