Love's Language

There is a silent distance between us
that we both don’t want to admit.
It’s something that we don’t discuss
and so, in fear, we sit.

We reach out in desperation
in the only way we know.
We revel in each other’s sensation.
It’s a way for our feelings to show.

As you rise above me, pale in the night,
reflecting our passion as light from the moon.
Your eyes, like the stars, are silent and bright
as we dance with the magic of two hearts in tune.

Your warmth has me captured yet I slowly recede
as the physical ties now fade in time’s mist;
the ardor replaced by a more pressing need
to confirm to each other that “We” still exist.

In the moments before when the boundaries blurred,
when we melded as one in passion’s abyss,
when “together” was more than a physical word,
we touched on a moment of transcendent bliss.

Now in the darkness with silence around
we live with the fear that the moment has passed
not comprehending the love that has bound
two seekers together - discovered at last.

I sat here & read this over & over. this is a beautiful poem, and for me anyway has a deeper meaning on many levels. love no matter how it comes about, I think once it happens it doesn't ever let go. just holds on forever..

I love this poem that you've written.

    good luck
