Making Promises

I still dream of you
From the first breath I did take
Under sleepy eyes
Slipping away

Deep to your arms
Yet you turn your back onto me
Silently weeping
Please come and find me

I then say to you
Here it is that I stand
Extending out my arm-
Trying to grab onto your hand

You pull away with haste
Then you say this to me
In your dreams, I am perfect
You still don’t know much about me

I fear of you knowing
That I make mistakes
Taking your hand away from me
With disgust and hate

I fall into the fears
Of my own misery
Losing that love you have
When you do dream of me

I sit here and I pray
As my tears always do fall
That maybe you can dream of me
Loving me and my faults

I stood there in silence
My eyes gazing at his back
Taking in all the things
That he had just said

A smile appeared across my face
Tears fell from my eyes
As I took his hand
And held it in mine

When I dream of you
You are so perfect to me
Those little faults that you have
Is what’s so intriguing to me

They make me want to laugh
Sometimes they make me want to cry
They make my heart beat
They make me alive

I wondered from time to time
Why you always turned away from me
Breaking the grasp of your hand
Denying your love that I seek

All this time-
I thought it was you who didn’t want me
Finding out that I had faults
Making your back turn towards me

They stood hand in hand
Their eyes finally did meet
Understanding the mistake they made
They were just too blind to see

Tears fell from their eyes
As passion sang from their lips
Embraced in each others arms
They were eager to forgive

Making promises
To forever be one
Making promises
Of undying love
