Even though the cold is cruel

Many men lust to have eternally famous names
They destroy their fellow man to attain them
They are like mad men charging windmills
Some think they should be  with God
While waiting for a hole in the ground

But if you can write a poem or song
That makes others feel loved
You will not have lived in vain
And you will be worthy
Even though the cold is cruel

Please tell me what you think

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

The last stanza in this wonderful poem really touched something inside me, Wesley. To have our presence recognized through poetry or other art is something so many of us strive for, always hoping we've done that or will do it while we're waiting for that hole in the ground.

A great write, my friend, filled with much meaning.

    Great Write

I really like the title you chose. It drew my attention. You are so right. We can leave a little bit of ourselves and make others happy with poems song, art or even an act of kindness Not enough of that in the world lately. This was a pleasure to read. Wonderful message!
I hope you are enjoying this New Year. Peace and Happiness to you. Hugs and Smiles too. Take care, Sandy
