I don't know if I can do it.
To say goodbye.
To touch one last time.
To kiss
and make it last forever.
Don't leave I ask.
You say it's only for a while.
You don't know that I cry
you're going to war...
People die in war.
Not me
you answer
for I have so much to come
home to.
So did those others
I plead
the ones we hear about
the ones shot,
blown up,
tortured.
All of them had something,
someone,
to come home to.
Yet they died!
You could too.
Don't go I plead again.
You smile
giving me one last kiss
as you walk away
into the rain.
Author notes
thanks for waiting hope you like it. You saw love I saw a parting.

Beautiful...
I love how people look at the same picture and see different things....That is what makes poetry so wonderful...I love the emotion here....

Going to war is tough. The unsertenly of returning to what you love. But as Richard Lovelave said in To Lucernia in going to war. "I could not love thee dear so much, loved i not honor more."
A good write...

Sad truth here that fits the picture well.
