Little Birdie.

A little bird
has a hole through it's wing,
it's been shot,
the poor little thing.

It makes me sad,
to see a animal hurt,
the poor little darling
is covered in dirt.

I nurse the little guy's poorly wing,
wishing for him to get well,
it may take a while,
it's too bad i can't cast a spell.

    Such a sweet write it reminds me of the time I found an injured hedgehog. Wouldn't life be lovely if we could cast a spell and fix such things so they didn't suffer. Through your words I can really feel how much you love birds. Truly lovely.

    aww this makes me sad too. One time at overnight camp...I tried to save a bird with a broken wing...it lasted for 3 days...and then sadly passed away.

    Wouldn't it be something if we could just cast a spell and make everything all better?! This reminds me of my poem called ~Emily
    For just starting to write at the end of last year, you sure are off to a great start!

    I also used to take in stray birds and put them in shoe boxes when found injured or whatever. Maybe you are considering becoming a vet?

      I do volunteer work at an animal shelter after school on some days, but i want to become a vet

    AW, THIS IS SO CARING AND SWEET!!!

    I used to try to help injured little ones from the woods, It does make ones heart so sad yet we cannot always help. 's

    Your last stanza is so beautiful!! Awww, this was a cute write with so many beautiful and innocent emotions. I hope the little guy gets well soon because it's really sad to see a bird or any animal hurt. God bless you honey.
