Memories with frayed edges
happy childhood days
faces I knew well
now a misty haze.
Best friends, pals and girlfriends
the gang that ruled the town
captured in a picture
where no one wore a frown.
Dreams were so much bigger
the sun it always shone
days were filled with laughter
sadly days now gone.
Yet still my heart remembers
this happiness I've known
I will share it for forever
with children now my own.
