Journey of the Fallen

Nothing is forgotten, no hope has been lost,
She is driven by desire whatever the cost.
Searching for the company of those long ago dead
Leaves her wandering in a wasteland of misery and dread.

One by one she encounters damaged souls
On her journey through burning fire and coals,
She cries out in horror as they throw her to the ground,
Tearing eagerly at her brilliant white gown.

Unaware that her lungs no longer breathe
She fears for her life and tries to leave
But the demons are strong and armed with hate,
They claw at her wings, they do not hesitate.

Golden feathers fly all around, she weeps,
Diamonds of tears flood down her cheeks.
Dragons spit around her circles of flames,
Ghouls cheer on in their pitchfork games.

Just when she believes she will never escape
Along comes a wizard in a dark flowing cape,
Riding atop a glowing unicorn,
Calling her up to be reborn.

He lifts her to the majestic creature's mane
Intends to deliver her from years of pain,
Swiftly they flee to his land by the sea,
The wizard, the beast and the sad escapee.

Once a safe distance from Hell and it's minions
He takes the time to form his opinions,
Deciding at last to return the Queen to her land,
Sends her through a portal of time and sand.

Slightly broken, battered and greatly mistreated,
She now sleeps eternal in the Garden of Eden.

Author notes

This isn't really my usual style, if you know anything about me.
I think I did alright though.

  • This is quite a vivid story. I think you did well with that. The rhyme was good, though there was a couple rough spots where it seemed a tab bit forced, but still this entry is good. Thank you and good luck to you.
