In the back of your mind,
You do not know me.
By day I sleep in the comfort of darkness,
By night I roam freely.
Your troubles echo all around me,
As your trials keep you on edge.
Amid your thoughts I float,
But you do not feel my presence.
They say that the idle mind is the devil's playground,
But he is absent from my eyes.
Impatient I may be,
Your slumber, I await thee.
May the Sandman sprinkle you with his magic,
As your eyes get heavy,
And your unconsciousness gets deeper.
This signals my time to awaken,
In your dreams which I shall creep,
Fighting for control over your imagination.
You want sweet dreams,
But instead I give you horror, death, and fear.
You try to wake up,
But the Sandman's magic is too strong.
You toss and you turn,
Until you are stilled by my power over you.
You will never again see the light of day,
As eternal darkness will reign .
I am the Dream Wraith,
And tonight, I have claimed your soul.
