with happy thoughts
and forgetful knots

i dont know what you're thinking
i don't know if you are thinking
but i know that i dont care
for as long as you live
you can go on thinking about me
but when the time comes for redemption
you'll be the one footsteps behind
hitting the brick wall with your misfortune.

oh my god. i love it. it sounds awesome. "forgetful knots" one of my favorite lines in the whole poem. very metaphorically written. it had a good flow to it too. i enjoyed it very much. could you email me the prompt you used. other then that, good luck and thanks for entering.

OH MY GOD!!! BRITTANY!!! THIS IS AMAZING!!! I mean, you have some pretty amazing work, but THIS!! I'm speechless!! That first stanza is absolutely magnificent!!! holy crap!! don't know what music prompt you used...if any (because I see it's in a contest) but it kind of reminds me of Shiny Toy Guns in a deeper darker way.
This is full of emotion and you can sense the mental turmoil and anguish but at the same time I found some humor in it:
"i don't know what you're thinking
i don't know if you are thinking" (
I found it funny)
If I saw this in my contest....I'd give it GOLD!!!! I think I'll have to start another one now
