Obama hides behind his Bush,
while Gordon blends into the bland Brown background
of a saturated english countryside.
And those who sit in judgement -
U.N.aware of the reality of the situation
(because they've never lived it)
condemn and tut tut over tea and biscuits.
Calling out for quiet and an end to the devastation
while it is U.S. who benefit from the sale of weapons
to war torn conflicting nations.
Financial gain is more important, of course
than the lives of a few people we've never met.
Besides America could hardly be hurt from the death
of a few more muslims - right?
Islamic terrorists!
Undoubtedly they strap bombs to their kids before they
leave their rundown shacks
and instruct them: 'When you see an american - detonate'
So really it's all good - as long as we are ok,
sitting here watching the pictures on our giant plasma screens
gasping in horror, muttering to each other 'how shocking'
and then switching the channel lest it arouse some actual feeling in us!

this makes some very good and true points. and well written. the first line itself is a brilliant start
-
And what of Hamas ?? they use innocent children as human shields, where is your outrage there ?
-
Not very elegantly put perhaps, but with a lot of truth in it. It is indeed sad that Obama has not had the guts to say what a disgrace to humanity the Israelis and Bush are.

Powerful compelling write.
