In The Hand of God

She has scars on her skin,
feels she can't be loved,
because she's not thin,
who told her this?

She told me her fears,
things I didn't want to know,
what she'd done through the years,
and a 30 year old man.

She doesn't believe in God,
says He's not real,
I did nothing but nod,
as I silently prayed for His help.

I got home and I fell to my knees,
I told Him her story through tear streaked pleas.
One of my closest friends in need of His aid,
needed now so she can be remade.

He says he wants to run away,
doesn't like it at home,
packs up today,
'cause he can't take anymore.

He thinks he has it bad,
that he's worse off than most,
can't see that they're mad,
and have a reason to be.

He doesn't believe in God,
says He's not real,
I did nothing but nod,
as I silently prayed for His help.

I got home and I fell to my knees,
I told Him his story through tear streaked pleas.
One of my closest friends in need of His aid,
needed now so he can be remade.

They're here today,
talking to me,
I smile as everything is okay,
better than before.

I told them my feelings,
about how God has helped me,
through all my dealings,
though they still don't believe.

I ask Him to find them,
stick with them all the way,
think to myself that each life is a gem,
and when found, held tight in the hand of God
