When I look at you.
My eyes see so many things.
So much pain, you've been through.
I'm here now,
Don't be scared.
Let all your feelings,
come to me.
Don't worry bout my troubles,
I'll keep them locked away.
Just hang on for the ride,
of an American teenage life.
Hook ups,
break ups.
Your life seems to be spinning,
out of control.
This hurt you feel,
soon will be gone.
Just hang on tight,
learn your rights...
of an American teenage life.
Thoughts of you,
rush through my mind.
The images of you with her.
I am not sad,
I feel no pain.
I've learned my lesson,
from all those sessions,
about an American teenage life.
Hold on tight,
your in for a ride,
but don't be afraid.
We're just in an American teenage life.
