I've fallen down over and over as we've held our breath
Waiting for this emergency to finally get urgent enough
To open our eyes.
Maybe this time the sound of my heart rate slowing
until stopped
will open them wider then before.
Come on girl hold my hand.
Just make a wish upon the stars in your eyes tonight,
hope just one more time that maybe we will make it out of this alright.
We don't need any of these ugly memories from my past
To erase what we seem to have.
As I look into your eyes my heart rate dwindles.
These drugs are filtering my vision
while the skeletons running out of my closet chase you away.
Now all that’s left when the door slams shut
is this dead feeling hanging in the air.

Very nice job, though it's some what hard to read the poem due to the color of the font and background. Other than that, good job.

"These drugs are filtering my vision

Those lines seem to really sum it all up, and in a very creative and striking way. Very nicely written. Good luck! -
