It staggers me that you can say,
"Today is such an ugly day"
When all is misty, cool, and calm,
The birds soft whispers like a psalm.
The clouds may roll and bode a storm
But marvel at the shapes they form!
There is more beauty in the blue
Then ever was 'twixt me and you...
And yet with all its stirring grace,
There is a shadow on my face.
For though I've thrown each rose away,
The memories are bound to stay
To always taint what bliss I find,
But even this won't make me blind!
It staggers me that you can say,
"Today is such an ugly day."

That's the feeling I wake up with everyday. And the rest is captured by your last lines:
" To always taint what bliss I find,
But even this won't make me blind!
It staggers me that you can say,
"Today is such an ugly day." "
Truly lovely!Methinks this belongs with my bookmarks
keep it coming!

I really liked this one. I think it's actually one of your better ones of late. I don't remember the last time I read a poem with Twixt in it. The picture fits really well with the poem.
