What if Death was the absolute end?
and there was nothing round the bend
does that scare you
It does me
and nobody has come back to tell me different
For life is a precious flower
and in life we have some power
Yet in death we have none
So be careful what you seek or believe
It may come home like an asp and bite you

interesting piece. many people can relate to this very thought. Think about at night before bed and I will cause myself extreme anxiety...lol. not really funny but, it's true. though, I do believe in an afterlife...or maybe I just want to believe it

I've been dealing with this very issue as of late. I like what you've done here. Thank you for entering. Shancy.

This poem has a very positive and fullfilling meaning. There are some that want to end their life. To them I say, "If you weren't living. What else would you be doing?" I'm not being condescending toward those that believe in an afterlife. Regardless of one's beliefs, is it really necessary to rush the end?
Everyone should enjoy what they have presently instead of constantly seeking things that they could not yet understand. Great poem.
