Your love has caused my soul to die,
yet I keep hanging onto your every word.
I no longer know right from wrong,
my heart beats so slow it cannot be heard.
All my days now are all full of emptiness,
my heart has been running on empty awhile.
Fooling myself with these vivid memories,
each day I search them for reasons to smile.
The pillow that rest under my head at night,
soaked as I cry all these nightly tears.
I lie awake until the morning's light,
then confront another as sadness appears.
My heart races when I hear the phone ring,
praying with every step it will be you.
The sound of your voice gives reason to hope,
even though you have told me we are through.
I pray to God for peace before I lose my mind,
without you there is no reason to live.
You have taken my heart, my soul and my mind,
shell of a broken woman, all I have left to give.

This piece really tugs at the heart
Beautifully written but so very sad
Holding on to "lost love" is hard
Yet letting go feels impossible when there is still love in the heart. The final stanza really brings this piece home
Looks like a winner to me
Take care my sweet friend
Much love and many blessings
