slip into summer's smile with me
let's find somewhere
tree limbs cover the lane
roll the windows down
let cool air refresh
stop by a slow running creek
kiss like a long goodbye
lingering into making a memory
for colder days ahead
take my hand in yours
take my heart
take my love...

Awwwww...
So cool! Literally! I love this Joe! This is amazing.
I love the Summer so much and you have such an amazing romantic side!
This is lovely and I want to have that kind of levity and attitude! I'm stealing this poem from you! lol
The only time I feel this way is on Lithium!
Just kidding.
Oh thanks for entering this! It's the first time I've read it and I really like it a lot!
Bravo!

I have to give fake clappys cause I'm low on points!

This piece was so beautiful and provided me with a pure image of the perfect summer love. Your words were so descriptive, that they painted majestic summer scenes in my mind. I also love how there were places left to open interpretation for multiple meanings--even in the personification of summer (smiling). Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing!

The first line caught me, then 'kiss like a long goodbye' evoked a big sigh. I like the hand/heart/love connection, too.
This is lovely, delicate and so sweet. Best of luck in the contest.

Harvey,
Your words are better than jelly filled doughnuts. I told Jessica that you were my #1 fan, of the two that I had.
