You seem to be obsessed
with making love to ghosts
and passing shadows.
Those darkling lovers who
dwell in the umbra of
your twisted psyche.
Watching you writhe in
feigned coupling with
them has left me cold
and filled my mouth
with the taste of ashes.
I wish you luck Eve-ling
May the bones and
the dust of your
phantoms
keep you warm
on the cold nights
when your breast
pounds with the need
of something more
substantial to cling to
and even the night
is no more solid
than your own
melancholy
reflection
In the bottom of
your glass.

Intresting, I can't actualy tell if this is true or a type of metaphore, but still, I like it. It has a LOT of good images and raw feelings throughout.

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf ? this poem makes me think of the movie with Elizabeth Taylor , I never got to see the play. An old movie made in 1966, If you have not.. then watch it sometime John . I was young the first time I saw it around the age of 13. I could never forget it. This is an amazing write it brings real life to the door step.

I get the feeling of dark depression in this very strong and emotional write. Am I wrong? A powerful poem and quite thought provoking.

this does leave a feeling of darkness...powerfully, and emotionally. Well done!

Interesting write, thought provoking...

it's so much easier to love ghosts than a real person... may be that's eve-ling's excuse ):
this is a very strong write.

Dark yet real. On saturnine - there may be a Planetary Male connection but my dic merely suggests, "bitter or scornful" or "brooding ill humour" Nothing wrong there I guess.
