A Collective Failure

The failure to accept
that the slow flux
of cosmic ebb and flow
happens whether or not
we exist.

The failure to accept
that we, and we alone,
are responsible
for our virtues -
and our sins.

We have given collective
(and individual) credence
to a projection of our
fears and desires -
we have created God.

A necessary creation,
some would argue,
and until we mature enough
to accept responsibility,
we will continue to accept failure.

This is quite a dark poem and one that makes me think...your words sum up the feeling of humanity at the moment.

    All the best...

    Sue

A rationalist manifesto, as simple and ruthless as high tech architecture... yet it seems to be sculpted in granite. Now matter how you slice your words, the result is still art, Bill.

    Deep

As always a deep write Bill. I wonder though who created who. Will we ever really know? Hermes writings can be so complcated.

I didnae smile at this one, Bill. Your words stand as a warning to us, and often times we need to be warned. But there is a fresh generation, and wha kens, they may be able to sort things out. The world is a bonny place in the quiet moments, when you may listen to the music of the spheres. Och, I can haver wi' the best o' them. Past, present, future - they are inextricably linked. But we maun try to pluck the special moments from so much chaos. Well done my friend.
