The day I grew this tree

I am the lady in waiting
And on most days I'm fading
Because of what you cause
I won't be here long

So on the day I grew this tree
I decided to make you see
What seasons shall be
If only you take care of me

You say think green
You say you'll clean
You say you'll make me healthy
And yet you decieve

As my earth covers with concrete
Roads and streets
I wonder if you truely love me
The one who lets you breath

I am mother nature
And here is my sign
If you don't listen up
The world might burn and die

So on the day I grew this tree
I decided to make you see
What exactly mommy can do
If you break her silent rules

A contest entry

I hope it brings a meaning to the picture for you.

this is a great metaphor for what manking is doing to the earth, it also could be read literally as a mother talking to a soon who is ungrateful even abusive, great poem on many levels
