I can promise you today,
But I can't promise you tomorrow
I love you with all my heart
I know that's a start
But I can't promise things will always be the same
When life is such a tricky game
I woke up this morning
But who knows what tomorrow may bring
Today is the present, but tomorrow is the future
And there's no way to tell if we'll be here for sure
I'm with you now
So please don't furrow your brow
I love you
Don't you love me too
I can promise you today,
But I can't promise you tomorrow
But I can't promise you tomorrow
I love you with all my heart
I know that's a start
But I can't promise things will always be the same
When life is such a tricky game
I woke up this morning
But who knows what tomorrow may bring
Today is the present, but tomorrow is the future
And there's no way to tell if we'll be here for sure
I'm with you now
So please don't furrow your brow
I love you
Don't you love me too
I can promise you today,
But I can't promise you tomorrow

This is kind of a love poem, but also about not knowing what tomorrow brings in general.

This was beautiful, it really was, and it reminded me so much of an episode that occurred recently, on my favourite tv show -
Not only that, but in the background of where I'm sitting, the fires in Australia are on the news in a documentary, and you have no idea how much your poem will ring true to them - because for them, they literally did not know that there mightn't be a tomorrow ....
Very moving poem you wrote here, and I am sure that it will touch so many people!
Thank you for entering

Reminds me of something my husband told me this morning. Tommorow is never promised, all we have is today.
Thanks for the entry and good luck in the contest.
A. MacEwan -

You have a great way in your writing if it is all like this. You get your point across while blending with a love poem. Very good. Thank you for sharing. Shancy.

Wise, yet beautiful words, Kathraina! I love it. If only more people thought like this. "Today is the present, but tomorrow is the future and there's no way to tell if we'll be here for sure" -I loved those lines! Well done. abi x x x

Very true..
..Bubbling love is sweet and to say
‘I can promise you today,
But I can't promise you tomorrow’
Really reminds us life’s uncertainty.
Only the Almighty can save the human race. Hope for survival is only possible if great efforts are made today; may be the only solution (like in love) to save our tomorrow.
Thanks for entering the contest.
Best wish in the contest, And a Happy New Year.
