today my life has changed forever
it was our final goodbye
we all said wonderful things
about you
tears rolling down our faces
thinking about the good times and places
then the sunset came upon us
and it was time
you wanted to become apart
of the ocean blue
and this is what we did for you
we brought you to a place
that felt like home
your children emptied your ashes
and we watched them become one with the sand
you were such a delightful man
you will be etched in my life forever
it will take time
things will never be the same
but i have no-one to blame
it was cancer and i wish
we had an answer
i wish you were laying next to me
as i write my poetry
i miss you
as i lay in our bed that we shared
for the last time
i search for you
a familiar smell
i have buried my face into the pillows to find you again
but nothing
i am wearing one of your old shirts to feel you
but nothing
i guess it will be a while
till i can find a place of
happiness and smile
until then
watch over me
for
a
while.........

today was andys ash ceremony he passed away on thankgiving day.
i miss him and my life has change.

You are amazingly talented. i am sorry for the one you lost. But don't fret, you still have a lot of people who still love you. Never forget him but keep living. he knows u love him. Just keep laughing with your friends and you'll get through this.

This is a beautiful poem. I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing someone you love is never easy. Not even if it was something you knew would happen. I've had a few people taken from me by cancer. Wonderful write.

I can only imagine the pain you are going through. It is hard when a lover, a soul mate, passes on. But we are always changed by their time spent with us. And no matter how far away we feel from those we love, there is a string which connects and makes us one. So we are never truly left alone. I wish you the best on the rest of your journey through life. I wouldn't go back an change a thing about the poem, I would merely continue on.
