Without Sight & Sound
©copyright 2009 Bonita M Quesinberry
Without our Creator, we are deaf and blind;
not seeing God's miracles or hearing His gentle voices,
like many waters urging us Truth to find,
pleading that we turn just to Him to ever make wise choices.
Each day God deigns to whisper in sinful ears,
stirring up infant memories of Him and His righteous ways:
yet, without sight and sound they live in their fears,
not knowing they're refusing a life of everlasting days.
Oh, Lord, I see evil waxing worse and worse,
living in rejection of Perfection, each chapter and verse.
Sadly, those who hear willingly are so few.
Forgive the lost, Lord; they know not whom they slay by what they do.
Oh, that they see what I see, hear what I hear;
for I recognize earth's illusions and its evil voices,
by these discerning God's Truth absent of fear.
They need to know only He teaches the way of good choices.
We hope to snatch them from a fiery end;
we, His prophets taught from on High, not man, of Christ and God's Law.
If only His teachings they would an ear bend;
for to His will mankind must bow, or burn by their many flaws.
Oh, Lord, I see evil waxing worse and worse,
living in rejection of Perfection, each chapter and verse.
Sadly, those who come willingly are so few.
Forgive the lost, Lord; they know not whom they slay by what they do.
In Christ's name, Amen and amen.

Excellent & Brilliant
Wow you are just amazing. This is such a powerful take on the prompt and the true meaning of the quote. I so agree with you on everything. I feel so honored to have been given the opportunity to meet you and then to read your incredible talent to write poetry (without error's...LOL..)
Oh yes you took this quote very deep and I loved it with the spiritual in depths of Gods living word, as well as what it's like to have a personal relationship with him. Yes those blind eyes and deaf ears all of a sudden when one becomes open to the Lord start to experience true vision and ears of wisdom to hear. Just brilliant seems like a golden poem to me for sure!!! Best wishes in the contest sis!!
Wishing You Many Blessings
Much Love Always,
Sis Kelle Marie

Ack! Sis, now who is waxing poetic!
Nay, I am no poet, for my writing is far to structured, not so lyrical as that of talented poets such as yourself. Prose, I suppose, yep. That's my strength, and only then because I am "a willing writer" for "God's mouth." And, I do so love the task He assigned to me; only saddened that so few hear and see.
Thank you soooo much, Sis, for the wonderful words of encouragement. I would warn you to stay away from me, for there are many here that will attack you when they learn of you reading and commenting on my work. Just one of the reasons that the Holy Spirit had me remove the greatest of my messages from this site last year. But! I shall not warn you, for you have a mind of your own and the Lord will reveal that which He chooses to reveal to you.
Never mind; must be that brain freeze again; that, or it is now drowning in all the rain.
Not sure which, snow yesterday, flooding today. Just further proof of the days in which we are living. Isn't it amazing! Since 1991 we have been watching prophecy unfold before our very eyes! Yoohoo! Christ is even at the door!
By the way, I feel certain you heard about John Travolta's 16yo son. I so wanted to send an email to him and Kelly, basically to quote that scripture I had given you. We, that is you and I, know exactly what they are going through. Yet, we must rejoice that God choose to spare Jett from the terrors of these end days.
Much love and hugs and blessings! SisBon

Truth in The Word!
Yes!
Without Him we have no sight & can't hear.
Loved the way you penned this & if we can 'snatch' a few with His blessing we're living His Command. Bravo on the flow, content & rhyme of this piece Bonnie. Trust you'll do well in this Contest most specifically by getting a lot of reads!

Thank you, sweet Sis! Indeed, today it is difficult to snatch even a few from the fire they are about to enter. And, like you, I hope for a lot of reads when it comes to penning God's Truth; otherwise, I wouldn't even take the time to enter contests. Ah, well, as John said, so I say, "Come, Lord Jesus, Come!"
Luv ya tons! SisBon

A-men
Younger men and women don't see what the lack of faith has created. They don't take their young to church and some then never attend at all. What we have lost is so valuable. I see it everyday in how people act. Seems there is no respect for others or for what God has created. It's all "whats in it for me" and God wanted us to look out for each other. Lucifer has gained much power and God has lost many sheep. I fear the end on the horizon and fear for my Grandchildren! God save us all!
Your poem is very nice and a wonderful praise to the Lord. I love you Sis, The Shaker

Thank you so much, dear brother, for the encouraging words and voicing your concern, one that mirrors my own. Like you, I am very concerned for my grandchildren. Peer pressure is greater than ever in history and so many of our young fall victim to its entisement. As the prophecies tell us of these end days, "The children shall rise up lawless." All we can do is to keep speaking God's Truth and pray they, one day, take it and run with it.
Much love and hugs, SisBon

I just love all your vision and penning, this is such a cry of our hearts dear sister...in the 5th line did you want the word to be design? I am so tired of seeing evil get worse and worse, but in essense we knew this would happen as Jesus is returning soon and very soon. Amen. Blessings.

-
-
Thank you so much, Denise, for the encouragement; and, no, the fifth line should reflect the word "deign" -- takes the time to or does though He may not be heard. Amen to Jesus returning soon! Yesterday would not have been soon enough.

Luv ya!

Very well written
Bonnie, It is so good to read your well written work again. I get so hungry to read inspirational work.
I know the feeling of seeing evil grow worse and worse, and sometimes it is so discouraging. It seems overwhelming at times. But having read the end of the book as you have, I know who wins
.
Great job,my friend. -

Ah, Steven, thank you so much for the encouragement. I know how you feel about the worsening of evil and the fall of so many of our children. And, yes, we certainly know who wins in the end. Praise the Lord! Yet, like John, I say, "Come, Lord Jesus, come!"
It is sooo good to see you here and I hope to see more of you and your great writings! The time is short, so get busy, dear friend!
Much love and hugs, SisBon
