There is this tune my Grandmother taught me to play on a piano years ago. Simple and haunting thats stuck with me all this time.

Simple, descriptive use of words is more, is better for the reader. Easy to read and understand, and memorable. Took me right away to memories of such things across many years. I will read more of your work!
