Oh Lord, I am blind without you

If I was left to my own devices
then I would be strolling in
darkness wallowing in all my
grief strickened crisis.
But the Lord God created everything

which has allowed me to see. And

through his grace he hasn't forgotten

about me. So I give him all the glory

and praise that he's  more than worthy

of, then I praise him so more; I love

him with all my heart and soul, and

everyday my faith grows. I need you

Lord so please don't turn away from

your servant, but help me to understand

the laws and ways to live your truths.

Blessed is the reading and writing of his

majestic words.

Amen...

Author notes

God allows the truth to be seen through everything we do, and see. And all praises should be given to him and him alone...

    So true

You are right so many times we get caught up in the world and forget just that. I try to remeber to let God guide me when I am having a difficult time making decisions but I get so caught up. Thanks for this little reminder to always put God first he sees our lives in ways we can't thank you!

    Amen and amen!

This is a wonderful prayer, Darryl, and I must agree that God teaches us so much just in the life He created around us; such as dogs and other pets teach us of unconditional love. Flowers spring up beautiful, then wither away, only to come back again the next year: teaching us the cycle of life need never end.

I did notice a few technical issues: 1) I feel the layout throws off the rhythm and flow, because the lines end mid-sentence where there should not be a pause. Also, I recommend using caps when using one of God's names or referring to Him as You, etc.

Lastly, these two lines need a quick edit:
    1) "If I was left to my own devices" -- anytime the word "if" begins a sentence referring to something that has not or has yet to happen, "was" is inappropriate: it should be "If I were. . .
    2) "of, then I praise him so more; I love" -- it appears that for "so" you intended the word "some."

Nevertheless, this is a wonderful poetic prayer and always a winner with our awesome Father and His Christ. Best wishes in the contest!

    Luv in Christ, BonnieQ

I totally agree. I love the way you started this piece. "If I was left to my own devices/then I would be strolling in/darkness wallowing in all my/grief strickened crisis." This is so true for all of us. We are all lost without His guidance. We only have to seek Him and His guiding light is sufficient to sustain us through any trials we face. Great message of praise. Good luck in the contest.

I even see this as a Praise and Worship song...nice flow and a cry out in awesome worship to Him, and the pic is so beautiful. Blessings.

You know I tried that I'm not a great singer I did sing through this though and ad-libed a little and it turned out to be very beautiful It was definatly a crying out to him type of song...I'm just singing it here in my house though, but maybe he should put some music to htis and set it off in Praise and Worship!
