the wind rolls across country roads and stirs the trees and empty fields. Her truck is only a brief disturbance in the winds relentless journey as it begins to snow lightly. She's only miles away from where he awaits her arrival[his stupid girl] Her mind wanders and her thoughts begin to collide. Her body is numb to feeling as she throws her fear overboard and sits quietly driving on and forward. The music blares from the blown speakers and if the door was open the world wouldn't feel so quiet anymore. She's at a point of no return and the only way is back. But what can she do...
[when faith and fear collide]
And now she sits on the curb of some neighborhood city street. Traffic screams by on the roads just beyond hers. Car horns blaring and screeching tires around crowded corners. But she sits outside with him, his cigarette smoke curling up from his hand and his other one is holding hers. She gave her heart to that city boy who never promised a word about tomorrow or any day after that, but startled her heart into an unsettling overdrive. She's not some stupid girl but one who looks for some sort of constant stability in her over dramatic life. She can't deal with those country roads or the empty fields that promise eternity.
[love had to end somewhere]
And she chose the city boy over the country roads that were leading no where fast. The road was a dead end where the only way was back down the road she came in on and even that seemed impossible. But she won't make that wrong turn again.
And we part like rivers baby
[yeah like rivers do]
She smiles slowly as his relaxed form curls around hers. His hands squeeze hers softly. It's his way of letting her know he'll always be there[but he's got such a funny way of showing how he cares] She shifts so that his weight falls on hers. He knows those subtle movements and that seductive look in her eyes that asks him to beg to take her. With a touch of the fingers and the play of the tongue their hearts begin to race. Together they move as their candle burns the light across the shadowed room.
[maybe one day he'll remember that she gave him hers to hold]]

yeah...it does seem like a movie.
but those places are real...the country roads of wisconsin where my ex lives and the city streets of downtown minneapolis where my boyfriend lives...
thats what makes it so real to me...to you...to anyone.
