The best way to beat writer's block is to simply write about it.
Pick up your pen and write down how frustrated you are that
you can't write anything at all. Look around you at the many
activities going on. Perhaps, your children are running around
and playing on a jungle gym. Your spouse or partner could be
watering the grass or cooking a meal in the kitchen. Take notice
of the birds and how high they fly. Watch them swoop down and
come to a slow stop.
Write about it.
Ask yourself what you did today or are going to do later on.
Keep that part of your brain functioning and take note of
everything that you see. Carry a dictaphone around in your
pocket and record your thoughts as you go through life everyday.
Watch the ants as they crawl up your sidewalk and take note of
the patterns that they create. Across the street there is a beautiful
young girl dancing in her living room. Watch what she does and
record her steps and techniques.
Write about it.
Keep a journal or diary and go over what you have written about
in the past. Be inspired by your accomplishments or how you felt
on any given day. Look up at the mountains and watch as the snow
covers every inch of it. See the clouds and all of the different patterns
and designs that make them up. Count and record every star in the sky.
Maybe you'll find different designs in the billions of galaxies that hover
over you every night. The stars can bring lost of inspiration to the mind.
They burn with such beauty and light up our lives every night. Don't be
afraid to express your thoughts even when you find it impossible.
Just pick up a pen and write about it.
