Incandescent Radiance

An incandescent performance, lighting up the sky.
The dance of a million stars, they are her heart.
She is mother to all, a symbol, true radiance.

The moons brilliance can be seen from the cosmos,
Silently, serenading those it beckons to;
I am one of those, drifting along in this dream.

The waves make love to the rocks below, Crashing,
they expose all, hoping to be received well
the echo's reach the heights of the cliffs; beautiful.

Calmly, the cool evening breeze flows,
the tall grass sways in it's awe and comfort
bowing, as if a thank you, for what it has brought.

Our mistress mother takes human form, but for a moment,
taking in the majestic scene, to feel.
Taking pride in all that she has done, she returns.

In glorious majestic heavens above, she watches,
keeping ever ready hands, protecting her children,
us. . .

Thank you so much... Picture prompts unlock a key to my heart and soul when it comes to writing for them...I just close my eyes and picture it as if I was standing there...I must admit that this picture unlocked something deep within me and thought it my best writing for a picture that I've done thus far. . . although, perception is in that of the beholder and I'm a bit partial myself. ha-ha thank you again for the beautiful compliment and comment.

No worries, I personally think it's worth GOLD, and paints a vivid image of how I see this picture, and as long as others see the beauty in what I've written, despite the frustration of not winning anything, that's all that matters to me, people taking away something from my poetry is more meaningful to me than winning any little trophy...granted, winning them is still just as fun

  • this is a very beautiful poem that you've written. it has a peacefulness about it as well. I really love the 2nd to last stanza. the imagery is fantastic throughout this poem.

    good luck
