I am planning my ambush on this cat
ready to play with the cat, to attack
what's stopping me, my owner isn't here
but what's stopping me is his final order
"Don't you dare touch that cat while I'm gone"
I am obediant, man's best friend
but I am also the cat's mortal enemy
keep my loyal promise, or win my war
Next moment was the eternal chase
the blurring vision, my life's entertainment
but she has the advantage, she can climb trees
a horn honked, not good, my owner is here
I'm locked in my cage with nothing to do
but stare at that cat, her mocking grin too
I learned a good lesson that I won't forget
not to chase cats unless there are no trees.

Very nice write. I can see the dog's dilemma. Funny and sad, too. Poor doggie locked up in his cage.
Good luck in the contest.

Pretty clever. Yep, I can see where the dog had a problem. How on earth could he stay loyal to his two closest friends. His owner, and his instincts. What a choice, but you had it down pat and told a great little tale that definately made me smile. Thank you so much for entering.
