Little children, little lambs

when 97% of Palestine lives
on about a buck a day
extreme poverty
Holy land way

...someone must pay

an eye for an eye becomes both eyes
and one tooth for a stumped toe
in Israeli strategic approach
West Bank or Lebanon, boom-boom force show

...who is friend and who is foe?

Torah and Koran soiled alike
in human craze
Mosque, Temple on the Mount, Wailing Wall
sacred turf maze

...while Holy rollers more Hell raise

Prophet Muhammed, peace be upon him;
Jesus for Christian; Messiah to come for a Jew;
my God versus yours
words of peace and love too few

...justice long overdue

when Holy books become cornerstone
and love and golden rule human law
social justice for all, peace will rule
instead of flawed road map and war wounds raw

...as lion slays another lamb with fierce, mighty paw

suicide bombers slaughter yet another
Israeli mother's innocent son
attack on Hamas, bang-bang swift retaliation,
and for a little girl of Gaza, life comes undone

...in the grave all children of Abraham finally know peace and become one

    Great write. And you probably have the coolest name on here.

  • I pray for the loss of slaughtered innocence. I appreciate your point of view and writing. Blessings, FAH

  • Really moving with evidently a lot of thought and feeling used. Lets hope the people in charge can see the situation like you can.

    Very well written....and you seemed to stay "politically correct." As i am sure most viewers, including myself have our own beliefs, but you didnt step on anyones toes...just was an avocate for peace and goodwill towards all men.
    Take Care.

    Well-written. You've taken on a very deep issue here and done it justice. You speak of the pain and torment felt by all sides with honest imagery and simple language. The situation speaks for itself. I appreciate the sentiment expressed in your poem. Thanks for sharing

    Strong imagery and forceful voice. The message is poignant and driven forcefully. It is a difficult thing to talk abut, let alone write a poem that can cut through the politics on the issue and paint a very human face. A great write! Keep p the amazing work.

  • ah it's so sad how our world, and how humans, well certain ones desrtoy what once was beautiful, at least in the begining, this was a good poem highlighting a serious issue and you handled it well, take care

    I strongly agree with this

    Rev. Jayne, Good to find you in AP here. Important message, and it is good rhyming poetry, too.

    Aye, I quite agree with your AN comment. A very fine write, indeed. I can only add that I believe that war is an obscene method to use to settle differences between groups or nations.
    Everyone needs food; clothing, shelter, education, health care, and a living wage job, et., So why can't we all cooperate to make sure that the nations of the Middle East provide those things for their citizens, and of course, why doesn't the rest of the nations on this planet do the same.

    West Bank or Lebanon, I been there in Maine if its the same. Thi was very good,
    Prophet Muhammed, peace be upon him;
    Jesus for Christian; Messiah to come for a Jew;
    my God versus yours
    words of peace and love too few
    This is a very strong and powerful statement that is very true. Thank you for penning the truth, Very interesting and enjoyable to read

    Incredible statement so true we as nations and religions are so quick to fight over beliefs yet miss the messages and meanings proposed by them to love accept and live as taught (Muhammed Jesus Confucious Buddha Moses Ganesha Shiva Kali Amaterasu and the many others ).

    peace

    It's good to stumble upon people that have a heart, and care. You wrote a very emotive piece. I shall see the Amnesty International's website.

    Your heart is in the right place. What a pity that the Israeloi murderers don't have one, whether in the right or wrong place. But they will pay dearly.
