A broken friendship

Did you ever take the time,
to look into the mirror?
To notice that everything you thought,
wasn't close to being clear?
You never took the time,
to see who I can be.
Emptyness and tears,
will take the place of me.
And still I wait and wander,
what goes on through that mind.
The answers to every problem,
something I can't find.
And you'll never know the pain you caused,
when you left me on my own.
The one who thought the world of you,
the one you left alone.
And I try to not stay bitter,
but its getting really hard.
When I see you run in circles,
never getting very far.
And I am stuck here waiting,
for the person I called friend.
You'll never know how bad it feels,
to know this is the end.
The sky is gray,
it holds no light.
Promise me everything,
say we'll be alright.
But no matter what I say,
no matter how hard I've tried
It will never take back hurt,
it'll never take back my crys.
But one day you'll look at me,
and ask me what went wrong.
And I will smile sadly,
and leave to where I belong.
