Frigid arctic winds howling in moans
chilling the fiber of my being to the bones
my forward progress impeded to but a crawl
my concerns are great I may not make it at all
my body does now ache in breathless groans

First off, the punctuation just robs this piece of flow - too many unnecessary commas!
Nice work, though! And good luck

Look into my eyes darling, and hold my hand,
for together we can make it in the storm.
One step at a time, forward we will go
making it safely back home.
Love your poem and felt the cold, darling.
