Submerged Again

In haunting strains of long ago,
'yes masser'
strikes chords of bitterest bile.

Television screens
awash with images,
where acceptance of
hunger and poverty
seep from saddest eyes
and emaciated bodies.

And tables turn again
as Mugabe sits in splendour.
