reached past his defenses

without even working up a sweat

still, her eyes plumbed his

explored the deepest parts of his soul,

places even he no longer visited

lowering her eyes

she stopped her foray

into his forest of illusion

    I didn't want this to end. The closing lines are superbly worded and fit the theme perfectly, Looking back over the song prompt provided, and the contest holder's personal choices, I was puzzled and disappointed to see that the contest holder had only saw fit to give this an honorable mention. I guess it all comes down to who and what you like. Great job here.

    it's been a long time since i have seen out and about around the site. i was reaful you had lrft us all for good. i knowyou were having some serious famiy and health issues there for a time so hopelly that has all poofed away. itsjust not the same without seeing certain regulars here. i feel a bit lonely sometimes because it. I like the deeper meaning you give words . I wiss more people saw that. good luck in ths contest.
