They write on the desks,
They scribble on the walls,
This silent, screaming society,
Struggles on as the curtain falls.
Deeper and deeper into obscurity,
Faster and faster into obscenities.
People judge based on secrecy,
And doom them without discrepancy.
As eyes count and choose the weak,
The machine rages, the chosen shriek.
To be different in this world results,
In hate and anger for those at fault.
Independency, their enemy,
Diversity, their rival.
Those who shut down ideals,
Are also those who are liable.
To what do we owe the pleasure,
Of knowing that different is wrong?
Whom do we hold responsible,
For the hatred thrown at the feeble?
How many must suffer,
Before the atrocities stop?
And how many must tell them,
Before they realize who is wrong?
We’ll shout at the establishment,
We’ll break all the rules,
This raging, caged society,
Will put an end to this ruse.
We’ll write it on the desks,
We’ll scribble it on the walls,
Pick up your things, time to go,
The cry for equality calls.
They scribble on the walls,
This silent, screaming society,
Struggles on as the curtain falls.
Deeper and deeper into obscurity,
Faster and faster into obscenities.
People judge based on secrecy,
And doom them without discrepancy.
As eyes count and choose the weak,
The machine rages, the chosen shriek.
To be different in this world results,

This is how I feel being a conservative person amid an entire school of zombie liberals. I do like it how it loops back onto itself. It reminds me a lot of Pink Floyd.

This was a great choice for gold!
Not sure I agree with Paul regarding vagueness. I found it pointed and to the point.
Well penned and never stop rebelling.

Your rant is a bit vague although it has a few good elements to it even in it's vagueness. The repetition of the beginning at the end is a nice touch.
Whether doing what the great machine says or what the idealistic 'you' says - it's all coercion just colored differently. Once you try to order society in any way, by it's very nature governance will always restrict.
A fair effort for your age.

I wonder where you took this from, that I would adore it. I usualy just adore dark twisted stuff but this wasn't all that bad. It has a strong point of view and some details I just love. Its a well penned poem, a little original but I think I like this one.
Thank you for entering and best of luck

well done!
