~ This in part is for the contest: A Tribute to Andrew Wyeth ~
~ Link to painting by: Andrew Wyeth http://allpoetry.com/contest/2433643 ~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ I entered this poem into the contest: Iraq and Afganistan, because like our World's soul, weary I feel in earnest this prayer of prudence and-humility-before-God is in order. May we all look at the World this way, as a World, angry, searching, longing, wanting, dying and headed for the most severe poverty, the poverty, of its own peoples soul. ~
~ Because the pain we all feel I feel is global. Look at the earth closely itself, suffering, and changing because of (excuse me) but our ungodly, ignorance, disobedience towards Him and outright greed. ~
~ If peacekeepers we are, then let us promote it in every way that we can. Let this war we all wage, be fought in this unified way. On the God Of The Bible's, the God of Universe's Terms, because The Lord I feel cries out to us for it, why-not-we cry back to Him for the same?... For how to achieve this, in His time, way. Beyond individual politics ... Let their be this to be adopted, a unified position under God, of freedom ... understanding, compassion and peace. ~
Let this creed, be found within our hearts and minds, never on the frailness, of paper;
alone ...
~ If'n we could only pray to God embrace this time, take this chance for a change, look together to Him each day each in our own time individually, daily, praying for the blessing of peace and equality, He will reveal it to us, because truly are we all not stripped tamped down and broken like our lands without Him?... If we play judge now, in the light of this, will the willing, and our children, and our children's future children and theirs be condemned to a life, a world within, still crying out alone for this singular devotion?... ~
~ I say for myself, because I too know this driving emptiness,
of course. ~
~ So let peace with Him and one another I pray, reign, and be the only prosperity, that we search for, Let Him, not us ... cull alone;
what is loose left tamped down and broken, raw, and exposed ...
stripped. ~
~ Have us ... be the ones;
to listen. ~
So every one ... may know; what is, true freedom.
~ Oh I pray that now, not then, we are honest with ourselves, open to Him, and willing to follow, His and His alone, true ambition. Before ultimately, to late,
it is ... ~
~ James ~
~ For the contest: Contest Inauguration Poem for Obama by ecrivain01 ~
~ Dearest President Obama,
God bless you, keep you safe;
greetings ...
great things are at hand.
Your belief in God,
honest and spirited policy's
staff in hand and pureness,
openness of mind, and heart,
and willingness to listen, act,
will be, its-deliverer. ~
~ Rush not, make haste to do this, for patience is key ...
move only-in the openness of what is ultimately right and true towards this. ~
Because given the way I believe we all in one way or another each in our own way, individually, have been prone, lied to, beaten into the belief that peace between us all, with ourselves, God, is an illusion, one certain joy only to be found in God's Heaven and Heaven alone, as I myself have, as well, believed.
Yes as well so I say with this attitude, it will never be rightly perceived; received. Seeing it through the frailty of my own, cluttered mind, tainted heart, of greed, and (Excuse me) but hate of certain peoples, belief systems, circumstances, things.
Please do not misunderstand my words ... when I say hate, I mean an acrimonious; tendentious hate.
~ I now believe this, peace is not fleeting, nor gone,
never gone, it is attainable through God here in this His time,
now, you must want and believe this as well, above all,
because it is not, alone, within the transparent, but,
the honesty as well, within the mind and heart of all that is apparent,
that abides alone with God
believe alone in this certainty. ~
~ You cannot be all things to all people, but God alone can. Take two steps towards Him, he will take towards you, as many, more.
~ Look within and around,
you will find it, bring it back again to us, pray every day,
search moreover within, ask for the advantage of God's
promise of this and its certainty,
through the clarity and guidance of His love,
He will send it scurrying its way to you, and to those about you. ~
~ Come to Him, grow further each day to know Him ...
you will be certain to find Him in its wisdom. ~
~ When asked to hush, please, I mean you no disrespect, but I-beg-you-to-be-still. ~
~ Listen to Him, a great leader, earnestly,
openly accepts His frailties, willingly, boldly follows, what is righteous.
Please stay-close-to-Him in this pivotal time in our history,
because no man especially now, is above Him, or this. ~
~ Though we may truly think we were, or still are. ~
~ And when told to Speak ... within your heart; and mind
let not calamity obscure the openness of His vision, for all, for you. ~
~ Every Knee will bow to Him. ~
~ Gather up your flock in your mind, and heart, longing only for this ...
ask God each day for a way to bring them each, everyone ...
to Him, the well, because so much is the world watching,
thirsting because blind, aching, suffering within we all hurt;
not just our nation alone. ~
~ If you too are brought to believe this idea of over all uniqueness,
separateness and singularity, apart from the world stage.
and are caught up in it, like some have been, are, and will want you, too be,
again we will, be, always be ... unequivocally isolated,
overly proud, disrespectfully, through our grander and greed,
carrying the fools temperament, through our blind devotion to it, and so,
I believe through Him and you, will peace for all,
in its day arrive, carry you and all as well again in its free and open spirit.
If you can bring us through God to see, lay down our arrogance,
and accept our part in it.
Then freedom in the heart, and peace with God and between all of us,
can be ...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ I don't know who ... but this is not my quote ... heard it from a someone, a friend I suppose. I have found it to be pertinent-though;
"Be friends with your friends, but be aware of who your friends are". ~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ Receive what you can from them, pay back, give them this as such in the order that we owe.
Do more if you can. ~
~ For a world of innocence before God,
before-this, do not let the Presidency
make you nary a day narrow, or proud.
Lincoln was not, nor should you be,
nor should any be. ~
~ Yes in this time like him ... able,
my dear friend, honest with yourself,
above all must you be. ~
~ Draw from the innocent ideas and devotions of this world,
and-of-days-of-peace-past, use them, yield them, be for all their example. ~
~ You now have this awesome power,
mighty and true, unstoppable;
you have this within you,
you are a guide like histories greatest fathers,
to God's well of life of peace everlasting,
this is your prudence alone,
please do not let your fear,
stature, certain struggles, weariness,
change you, like others. ~
~ Please be firm, be loving compassionate and true,
with yourself, and others and in all ways be willing to follow God,
practice this, in all that you may do ... do always your best,
no matter what the day may bring you. ~
~ Set a new standard, stage, advance us in this hope ...
be nurtured, and carried within its beauty,
because innocence, is what you will find within,
amid this day and hour of God's promise of
mercy, forgiveness, protection, and peace. ~
~ Hone this practice daily, hourly,
in quiet moments if you must,
pray for humility, guidance strength and wisdom,
and from what you learn,
show us all the way to these blessings. ~
~ Do not fear, for God has bestowed His welcomed
upon you, touched you, given you His mighty favor,
and the treasure we all need, of this certainty,
yes so pray time and again and moreover again,
for His will, in its clarity, lest you too yourself are left as well,
to doubt. ~
~ Gods peace in all of its innocence,
humility and honesty, and certain eminence,
be yours to own, and be here through your obedience
to Him, for all, to claim. ~
~ P.S. ~
~ Remember this above all please. ~
~ Like you:
and others,
merely I am-just-a-man,
and without God, completely alone, deaf ... mute,
(without defense) ... unteach; -reachable ...
and entirely fallible before-Him. ~
~ James ~
P.S.S
When you have lost, everything, you are ready for all of the greater good,
that can be.
Change is blossoming up around us, I only pray that we are ready, willing to receive it!
Contest Get in Shape with Darkwell by Darkwell
"im getting in shape with Darkwell"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ Happy AP birthday Dark Otter ~
~ The reason that there are Hyphens "so many of them") is because I have a computer that speaks them with a faster and slower and higher and lower pitch of voice, giving a certain kind of ebb-and-flow to the work with a softer more fervent and realistic and consistent tone, when I use the hyphens and other punctuation in the certain places that I do, when in telling it what to do. Allowing it to speak in even a moderate voice if I choose. It sounds very free flowing when I hear it, and I can only hope that you will be able to here it in the same way. Thank you for reading and God bless you ... ~
~ The words of this poem, make out the form of a budding flower. ~
~ God bless you ... and thank you so much for reading. ~

This was a mournful howl that reverberated and echoed in fields too bitter to bring forth fruit. Yet the shape, the nuances, the hopeful words that spring from such dead soil is beautiful, and created a moment where faith bursts forth like seeds scattering towards warmer earth.
Thank you for entering. -
What amazing shape poetry you have penned with these words - great author comments as well.

-
this isn't really what i was looking for but i appreciate you taking the time to enter anyway
thanks
-
This is immaculate! Stupendous! I am captivated by the marvelous prose which you use in this poem! I also like the shape of the poem! Truly! you did absolutely fantastic! Glory in the Lord!! Keep it up!!

-
Very nice ...
and an excellent Christmasy form poem, but it doesn't work in this contest.
Good luck with your writing in future.

-
like i said before this is just gorgeous and i love the way you use dashes to make outside form and words inside, its like Wow!
-
I love your artistry and imagery as well as your wording and creativity.
Thank you for your entry. -
cool poem, it wasnt too long but not too short, it came off as random thoughts but thats why it also came off as cool. thank you for entering and good luck
-
Oh. This is a very creative little poem that you have penned in here.
I loved how it was shaped and had tight language. The only thing that really surprised me was how long the author notes were!
I don't think I've ever seen author notes that long before. lol You did a good job of expressing yourself.
-
I must say, this poem really does complement the Wyeth painting of "Christina's World" very well, as she beseeches God for his kindness, the only hope she seems to have out there in that lonely field, examining a past which is now faded, it seems to me. Your concentration on the grain and spiritual crop yet to ripen and harvest is a very fitting tribute. Thank you.

-
Yes, need a change and you cried it out wonderfully in this writing. Blessings.

-
This is berautiful and such a strong plea to God to help us all...change what needs to be and do things right...give us strength and courage to make a difference...this is wonderful stated and a beautiful prayer...
Thank you for sharing!
Kim

-
A wounderfull write my friend. x

-
Well I think I understand why you didn't do this but if you had read the rules I had asked only for left aligned writings.
Also, I had asked for a conversation with God not a prayer to God. Kind of a difference there.
As for the writing. It was very creative and very well written.
Thanks for sharing it with us and thanks for entering it into this contest. -
Oh brother James it's good to read your work once again. A wonderful talent you have posted. Thank you.
In God's Love

I do love the inherent plea for change you express, moving away from the ways of fear & separatedness. Nicely done...

-
A beautiful prayer.

-
Remarkably concrete - very imaginative.

-
this is a nice read, i kinda like shape poetry.
thanks for entering and best of luck -
stunned to silence
perfection

-
A calm and peaceful read, set out in a very pleasing way. Don't change too much if you must change any at all.

-
I read twice!
Maybe gets a third read. You chose an interesting take for your Christian ideals. Speaking as the 'fertile field' that lies in fallow you allow yourself a unique metaphor to express those beliefs. This is an excellent poem and I am happy to have it as an entry!

-
This piece is awesome indeed
This is truly a gold winner and you have such a flare in your witing that embraces ones heart .I say BRAVO HONEY

-
Wonderful Image of Budding form
to match your equally well written words. I have enjoyed taking the time to view this offering. Niaish for sharing.
Respectfully,
Silent Hawk

-
great write...awesome flow and choice of words

-
i don't know why
but this poem has the song "hope of deliverance" stuck in my head. i think because it's so lyrical when you read it and it's form is kinda whimsical.
thank you. -
I like the choice you made to write about. Thank you for entering. Shancy.
-

This talented poem prayer is deeply heartfelt in its intent. And many metaphoric inclusions evolve from it too.
Amen,and God bless.

-
truly a wonderful creation
the flower the wisdom and growth
beautifully done
visual and profound feast
God bless you my friend...

-
The budding flower is indicative of the love and passion you have for the Lord and your desire to please Him in your life. This is a beautiful prayer made visually powerful through the form of the flower. It is so delicate and quite effective.
God bless you mightily.
