What if I were to die today?
Should I be proud of what I've done?
Have I worshiped You?
Have I been a good brother and a son?
There are people who still love me,
But those same people I have hurt.
Have I been the person that I should be?
Or is my life not much of worth?
There are times when I could look back
On the things that I have done.
What's there to be proud of?
Not a thing; not even one.
What if I were to end it all,
Would it be worth it in the end?
Would I be remembered as a liar?
Or a Christian for pretend?
There are times when I could think of
All those prayers I had prayed.
Did I mean them at all?
Could you break down this wall
That's making me turn away?
Father, help me! I'm falling fast.
Trying to run from all my past.
Lord, please tell me what I should do!
I'm on my knees crying out to you!
Why do I feel like my life's about to fall?
Why do I feel like just ending it all?
Lord, if You could erase all the sin I had done,
Would it be enough?
Could You again be the one
That I'd come to when I thought I needed a friend?
Or is this just the end
Because of what I've done?
What have I done?
How can You look at me
After all I've done?
But, Lord, You've cleaned up my life
And I am with you again.
You were there for me
Just when I needed a friend.
I give you my heart.
I give you all that I am.
And I'll no longer run
From what I've done.
Author notes
This song was written when I was in the ninth grade. It began as a simple prayer to God, and turned out to be my absolute favorite work of mine. I became lost in my own problems, and forced everyone I knew away, including God. I was saved from committing suicide by my best friend. And I truly believe this friend was sent by God to save me.

Such truth in this work so felt
He sends many our way every day .There is not a single person that comes before us that doesnt have something to give or teach us on our journey in life .Even those who are sent to test our faith we are the one to choose right or wrong and yes we are the one to reap what we sow but to learn and know to never stop reaching out for he also send those to save us to help us see and find the journey before us so filled with the light and to know and learn not to get off the pathway for our journey is in our hands only their are many who are there for us to catch us should we fall .

This song is so sad and beautiful, so much meaning in the words you wrote here.
Your friend is lucky to stop you from something like suicide.
I can defenatly relate to this, it's shows that time in our life when we really reflect on what matter most, which is God[sorry got all religious there]
