No one

No one appreciates me.
I know I have wierd ways of doing things
sometimes.  Other times, I just do things
the same old way that everyone does.

But sometimes I like to figure things out,
probably thinking I'm smarter
than most other people.

I seem to remember that being
said of me by someone
at some time.

Now I am figuring out how to
write a poem about why
I am a little unloved,
just a little.

By necessity, that
will be just a
little different,
just like me.

    Aren't we all

... capable of this emotion? and yet we know that in our heart that we are special to somebody and because of that - your poem is a bio for many. Well stated! jy

The ending is again, your classic dry wit. As you know I appreciate you - you bring great flair to the contest world, have wonderful insights into old poetry and can turn out a mean poem - that one about the dream of your father diving is one of my all time favorites of poems I have read on this site. I enjoy our chats and hope that this new year will be a fine one for you with your new gift of healthy eyesight.
