bud releases petals
enfolding them within;
teaching,
on art of living life without.
when they flower,
they spread perfume,
for all of us to breathe.
small and big;
are alike, for a beautiful flower.
soft and tender,
in living,
surround space with beauty
live for a while
personify selfless.
speak the language of silence,
revealing bare,
skin color,
inviting, arms spreading,
a foe and a friend.
they fell unnoticed,
before mother earth takes them into its bosom.
without sermon,
teaches humanity in silence
living in thoughts,
without opposites
giving what it has
for those who beheld.

Gibran always has the most wonderful quotations and your take on that prompt is quite nice. I do enjoy your longer writes. Lovely.

"speak the language of silence"
There is a certain quality required to understand this language. You seem to know it well. Good luck in Carol's contest, Poet. Happy New Year to you & yours.
