Song, Tune, and A Toy (a Riddle)

I'm a wave, birth, moon, and boy--
Line, song, tune, and a toy.
I may be love, poem, and face
A room, a shack-- or any old place.
Of dancers tapping in blue suede shoes,
Wearing thin, singing the blues.
If you face me in a day or year,
Salute to hope, laughter, and cheer.

  • Ah the riddle master, I admit I haven't read some of your stuff in a really long time. Hmmm, let me think about this one...Nope, no luck with an answer as usual. I can see dancers, a cheery place, and blue suede shoes...Footloose perhaps?

    Schmitty

    • Schmitty, you make me laugh no matter what!

Lol, thanks for the awesome words and thoughts. I know, it's been forever since we chatted last. What are you up to? Work? School? Art? Poetry? Hopefully we can take a break from the madness and just relax and converse-- whataya say? Best wishes and thanks for those beautiful words.

I'm absolutely hopeless with solving riddles. I can't even manage to finish a crossword puzzle with (supposedly) obvious clues.

Well, I'll give the impressions I got as a guess but don't think I am correct.

    Best wishes... ~Genie~

      Not quite and

I'm thankful because then the answer would be posted here and everyone would know. I should've reposted the rules which are simple. You make your comment as you did, excluding your answer/guess. Then i.m. me your answer/guess, and if correct i reply to your comment here and say that you are correct. Thanks, and Happy New Year to you.

I enjoyed the read. Now pray-tell what is this thing you riddle of? I am stumped. All I could think of was the flag. I know it isn't the right answer. Captivating my curiosity. Yours, Gypsy

This is my first riddlle posted in quite some time. Although I wrote many drafts, I didn't realize that I hadn't posted any in '08. Now I have a resolution to post many this year!
I'd like to say thanks to Nephlim for being an ever inspiring friend here at A.P. Just see her coments on my homepage and you will get a sense of what she means to me (Thanks Nephers-- you Rock).

Congrats to Nephlim as she correctly answered the first riddle for 2009. For those who are new or haven't answered these before, it's very simple. You first must comment, and say whatever you want, ex. "Dude this is crazy, whacked out, like a paraplegic bank robber whose wheel chair has two flat tires and a dead battery as she makes her getaway." Or, whatever. Next, you send me a message with your answer, and if correct, I reply to your comment and say that you are right-- maybe even like, "the dedicated, hunter who is reincarnated as a caged songbird who happens to be tone deaf and is stalked, twenty-four-seven-three-six-five by an overzealous, double-pawed, house cat!" Or whatever.
