You were sitting in a truck

You were sitting in a truck
I was introduced
I left to run my race
through the deep mud
You gave my little brother rides

I looked into your eyes
My heart melted
I knew something was happening
but i don't know what

We met again at my house
that very same night
My parents left
As did your mom and her boyfriend
Leaving us to watch my siblings
We had fun
Then you let

I saw you again
That same month
We raced each other
And stayed in touch,
A little,
As the summer went on

I invited you to a movie
Spiderman it was
With a few of my friends
It was an ok movie

School started
We went to a football game
or two
We saw each other in the halls
a time or two

I slipped notes in your locker
little ones asking the stupidest things

After a while we stopped communicating
You left without telling me
I found out a little later
from a friend of mine,
your cousin

I had realized what was happening
The first day I met you
Till the day you left
I had been falling in love

that summer was very harsh
especially on my heart
Everyday when I woke up
I wondered about you
How you were doing

A month had gone by
Since you had left
I told myself
You were coming back

Then I realized
I had to give up and move on
I thought it would be easy
It was not
It was one of the hardest things
I have ever had to do in my life
I hope I never have to do that again

All summer I tried my hardest
I tried to forget
To forget you

Summer passes
August comes around
I still Haven't forgotten those eyes or you

Finally a new school year
A new start, hopefully
Two months pass
Things are going good

Saterday, October 4, 2003
Someone pulls into the driveway
It is you and your mother
coming to check the horses
To ride four-wheeleres

I have just barely started to get over you
I try to keep myself busy
I don't want to have to talk
Then you start a conversation
Something about Prom
I said I hated it
It was for people who had time
And that I didn't have the time

You asked me anyways
I said no
I thought about it all day
I then decided to ask my parents
They said yes
And they had already talked you your mom

I decided then and there
I was going to quit
Trying to forget

The worst day of my life
Thinking I had lost you
The best day
Finding out you loved me back

Author notes

Please tell me if I need to quit writing what is in my head,
What comes out of my hand, and is stuck in my head until it gets set free.  Tell me the worst thing about this poem and the best or even if i should just burn it.  Thnx.
