It's a dream come true for me,
As I sit beside the window in my dress.
All lace and frills and glitters,
Just as I seem to glow with happiness.
I'm trying to catch a glimpse of my man-
He's talking with his dad somewhere outside.
We've got a half hour of waiting to go,
Before the carriage arrives, to take us on a ride.
We'll be headed to the church today,
And then we'll get to finally say 'I do.'
After months of planning and preparing,
My fondest dream is finally coming true.
He looks so handsome in his uniform,
So dashing and proud as a Marine.
They say that all soldiers are cut alike-
But he's the most handsome one I've ever seen.
There he is! I see him, and he just looked up at me.
The way he smiles makes my heart race,
And I know that this is the right thing to do.
Ours is the kind of love that nothing will replace.

This is so vivid and evokes images that are clear and strong. The rhyme works well to tie stanza. This consistently maintain use of the craft. The reader is taken to the window waiting with the narrator for the man of her dreams. Thank you for entering our contest and good luck
