I will plead with the Lord,
that he might have mercy on His people.
My petition will come before Him day and night,
for His glory,
and our salvation.
Oh! That the Lord Almighty would be seen!
Let his glory shown among his people once again!
Oh! That all the nations would see –
that all the people would see and declare
that there is no one like our God.
I will pray to the Lord
and He will come.
I will seek His face
and His face I will see
For as He has promised,
so He will do.
Author notes
part of a series I've been doing over the last few years, and will most likely continue throughout the rest of my life. Hebrew poetry (most exemplified in the Biblical Psalms) is an interesting thing, vastly different from our poetry. Rather than focusing on rhyme or meter, the main emphasis is on repetition, parralelism, and symmetry. As I write these I keep that fact in mind, as well as gaining inspiration directly from the Word.

I too seek mercy for a world so lost and filled with wickedness. So many souls with blind eyes and hard hearts. May God continue to have mercy on us, and guide us in the darkness. A wonderful psalm. Thank you for sharing in the contest.
