yet it comes again

Every year i look at the last dawn
Every year i hope for the best

I saw the worst yesterday and hope to see better today
Changes bring nothing new as everyday we dream the same thing

The birds aren't chirping , the sound of children playing fade away
As the death of many appeared last year  i hope to see the better this year

No violence should be formed, No blood should be shed as today its the end ...
But the beginning of the new reflected day

So let the new ray of sunlight pierce through our planet
Let our dreams be bounded by miracles , Lets prove the people that tomorrow is a better year

  • A very thoughtful piece to bring in another year. Hopeful, yet weighted by the burdens of yesterday. Nicely spoken! Thank you for your entry!

    beautiful picture

your poem mirrored what the picture showed.

how amongst all the evil in the world, we can still hope.

thanks for sharing this and have a blessed 2009

Wonderful write, the sentiment can be felt throughout..
I have one small critique, and it may be better if I show rather then tell...

    "I saw the worst,
    yesteryear
    and hope to see better,
    today

    Changes bring nothing new,
    as everyday
    we dream the same"

just a suggestion, but your lines to me anyway are way too long, and I feel if structured in a similar fashion to what I have just shown you, your write will resonate with so much more power, giving the reader time to pause and inhale the full meaning of this write..

It is an excellent piece... Welcome to AP..
