We tend toward the edges,
we run the fence line.
We test all the boundaries
that limits define.
Despite all our questions,
the answer we lack,
does the fence keep us in
or hold something back?
Author notes
I used the fenceline prompt because my grandpa had a farm in Iowa, and I always walked the fenceline with him as a young boy. picture and quote by: me. Kevin Pace WordsDoMatter

This was absolutely wonderful. I really liked this poem because it says so much in so few words. It holds a message and makes you think. great job on
this one. -
Short and sweet
Short yet powerfully good. You are a gifted and talented writer so I'm glad I hopped the fence to see.

What a great write... I like your take on the prompt. It's so cool that you have that kind of a memory of your grandpa. Best of luck in the contest and in future writing. Have a Happy New Year.
