I Come -- senyru
(c) 2008 Bonita M Quesinberry

Lord I come to you
so many times ev'ry day
for life is just . . . hard

Author notes

The man in the contest picture prompt reminds me of me. Life is tough, full of chug holes and ruts and Ys in the road, or someone attacks us for whatever reason based on hate, so much hate: obviously, evil surrounds us. I would be like a fish out of water if I did not have the Lord to go to in moments of uncertainty or weakness or especially when I'm under attack. We all have those moments many times throughout each day.

    Life is Just Hard

Oh yes just to breathe the Holy Spirit in and let the Lord take over and over again all day long is such a relief. It is so hard in Satan's world but we have the Lord who already won the battle...Praise our King in Heaven...He shall reign forever.

You know I don't know the different kinds of poetry. I loved this little poem. So much meaning with so few words. Thanks for sharing hun.

    Love Ya Bon,
    Kelle Marie

Thank you, precious one, for the very inspiring words about the senyru: as for meter, it is the same as a haiku 5/7/5, whereas a haiku is always about nature and the senyrus can be about humans, etc. I've been working to improve my abilities with this form, being accustomed to a bit more wordiness.
      Luv ya, SisBon

    Congrats!

I read myself in this, but I would tailor the last line to:
"asking forgiveness". Blessing to you. Frans

Thank you, dear Sistah! Like you, I'd been in the grave long ago, if not for our awesome Father and His Christ, our dear Saviour and Lord! Oh! And, thank you for finding me worthy to be in your Fav list! I shall make it a point to add you to mine!
      Luv and hugs, BonnieQ

It is said life is a grand school,we all recall how we hated school at the time
Point is if we have learned anything form it, and in any case hardship should make us stronger
When we take pleasure in pain and delight in sorrow, then we can say we have mastered the art of penance
I thing what ever comes our way, we have earned it to the full.
A write from the heart? if so well said

Amen and amen, dear brother! I often feel as Paul, only to realize, as he did, that Christ's grace is sufficient for me; for I'd rather have Jesus' power upon me that to have nothing at all. The blessings bestowed upon this pitiful, sinful Eve far outweigh any and all suffering I must endure for all the same reasons His grace was sufficient for Paul. And, yes, as you say, I certainly deserve whatever befalls me; for in suffering now, in the end I will never suffer again.

It is so kind of you to add me to your fav list! If I haven't done the same, I shall this very moment!

Love and hugs in Christ, BonnieQ

Oh, thank you so much, Denise. I was surprised by the Emerald Cup! I'm rather a novice on these short poems, tend to be a bit wordier than they allow. But, I'm determined to improve. I might have mentioned before that thelordreigns is a master of haiku and senyru. She amazes me with what she can convey in so incredibly few words.

      Luv and hugs, BonnieQ
