Stand Again ~ a prayer
©copyright 2008 Bonita M Quesinberry
Oh, Lord, I'm so tired, weak and weary;
Please, when will this nightmare end?
Oh, I know . . . I know, really, I do know:
Satan wants my will to bend,
yet You won't allow more than I can bear.
I understand what that means
regarding pain striking body and mind,
nonetheless, I can bear all things.
Oh, please Father, give me the strength to stand
then stand again 'til he sings.
It is hard, Lord, so hard with no army;
no one with me in this fray,
his weapons increasing and I'm alone,
his soldiers meaner each day.
Please, Father, how much more must I endure?
How long have I to press on
to insure each lost child has been snatched up,
days Satan seems to have won?
Oh, please Father, give me the strength to stand
then stand again 'til I've won.
Oh, I know . . . I know, Lord, I really know.
I know You do have my back;
it's just those times when I don't feel You there,
left longing for what I lack
and so needing You to hold me tightly.
I need this nightmare to end . . .
I know, despite my tears, I understand:
make my will one he can't bend.
Oh, please Father, give me the strength to stand
then stand again 'til he ends.
In Jesus precious Name, Amen
and amen
Author notes
We are living in the end days and, as Revelation tell us, "The wicked shall wax worse and worse," and "the children shall rise up lawless." Earth now is not a safe place for God's children, for we are under constant attack, worse than at anytime in history. I am under such attack, thus the prayer; for I know God will avenge me and Jesus will soon claim me. Amen!

Congratulation!
Your prayer was uplifting. I could really hear the fear, sadness, and yet hope throughout. Congrats! -

Thank you, Jack. Actually, I feel absolutely no fear, it is more the weariness of the battle of these end days and so few will hear God's Truth. As Jesus said, the love the lies taught in His name, so there are more attacks than acceptance.

A fitting prayer!
What can I say but timely!
As I read this I was praying this prayer with you!
All that we see today on the news, in our neighborhoods, with our friends and relatives, on the Internet, points to the end of this world system & the coming of The Beast Power. We all need to be strong, prayerful, & ever vigilant! Come soon Master come!
Well done Bonnie. I'm sure you'll do well in the Contest.

Thank you so much, Sis, for joining me in this prayer. It seems I have prayed it so many times over the last 17 years. Praise the Lord, Jesus said He would cut short this Laodecia age for the sake of His saints. I am sooo glad, for it is becoming increasingly difficult to "get angry but sin not." Sometimes I just want to pop a person in the mouth.
Naturally, I don't, but likely because God holds my hands in place and shuts my mouth!
Luv ya tons, SisBon

I join you in this poignant prayer
"Oh, please Father, give me the strength to stand
then stand again 'til he ends. "
Our strength is and must be in Him and in Him alone. The battle is too fierce but we remain safe in His arms. It is when we are unaware and unarmored and go out in our own strength - it is then that satan attacks with power. But, even then, all we need do is run to our dear Lord, and again we are enveloped in His amazing love.
My prayers are with you as I know your prayers are with me and all of the saints in these last days.
Now this, dear Sis, is a gold winner. This could be put to music and be our battle cry in these last days.
Love and hugs,

I feel, each day I look at the news, that the end times are drawing nearer and nearer.
Thank you for entering the contest! I really enjoyed this piece. No doubt there will be a lot of praying.
What I really liked about this was, "You won't allow more than I can bear. " That is something we MUST remember. I hope I don't forget it if I do live to see the final days. I like that you included it in your poem.
Thanks for entering.
