Mirror Mirror on the wall!
Reflect to me what is my call?
My eyes to see me evil sent,
By day I sin, in night repent,
I know the answer ye within,
So dark my eyes, yet light therein,
Remind me of my purpose here?
Thy silver sees my doubt, so clear!
And each and every night forsook,
With all my courage take a look,
To reach and clutch thy heart divine,
Oh mirror, send to me a sign!
For heart in me bereft I am,
This child ye see, his fate a man,
Yet all this earth its wealth naught true!
Oh mirror, which the path pursue?
In contemplation spirit asks?
In dark my soul to bathe and bask,
The only truth thine open book,
Yet fear do I, myself to look!

Hi Keith,
Another interesting poem. I like your use of the image of the mirror and peoples' desire for answers about the here and now or about the future. Or is it the search for meaning? Your poem captures very well the fear people can experience in looking at themselves. Thought-provoking piece,
All the best,
Liveddog.

I like this piece and it's use of what I call old English. Very well done, my best wishes.

This is great! You capture the reader's interest right away and carry it throughout the poem. The picture and the word prompt fit the dark genre perfectly and you carried it off well.
Love,
Amera♥
