I have heard described times untold,
Sunsets, oceans, and landscapes of old,
Sunrise, wide plains, mountains of majesty,
Rivers, and lakes, hills flowing endlessly,
I have seen cities, shining and hard,
Endless glass windows, set in shimmering steel,
Statues so fine I dare not disregard,
Buildings of wonder, with much appeal.
I have seen the stars, twinkling at night,
Seen the Eagle in sure winged flight,
Flower arrangements and gardens so sweet,
Beautiful things, flawless, complete.
The grasses of plains, needle clad trees,
Reeds of the river, and twisted salt sage,
Swaying and bending in a soft gentle breeze,
Nothing at all betraying their age.
Storms in their glory as onward they rage,
Thunder and lightning setting the stage,
Rain sleet and snow, a beauty in each,
Talking to us in heavenly speech.
The sun in the heavens, moonlight at night,
Fire so warm and water so cool,
Tinkling streams that fill me with delight,
Summertime swimming in the deep crystal pool.
These things I have seen, beauty beheld,
Thought they were the best, that nothing excelled,
But then come a night, moonless and dark,
My eyes fell on you, and my heart found its mark.
The red of your hair puts the fire to shame,
Sparkling eyes, and stars become tame,
A voice like music, laughter like bells,
Colored by soft flowing pastels.
The feel of your hand, clasping with mine,
Fingers caressing my rough leather skin,
I kissed your lips, so soft, so fine,
Tasting your mouth, thus my life did begin.
Feeling your love, so perfectly pure,
My life upsidedown, direction unsure,
Or perhaps it is straight, finally true,
This is my chance to start life anew.
She bends with more grace than a green willow tree,
The sunlight grows dim when compared to her smile,
A heart better than gold, and she hands it to me,
With me she intends to walk down the aisle.
Such beauty as she, I have never seen,
Outdoing the trees and grasses so green,
Starlight, moonlight, or sunlight so bright,
Only is beautiful with you in my sight.
Surpassing all things, exquisite in form,
My other half, she makes me whole,
To norms of society she need not conform,
All beauty captured in her perfect soul.
Add all things together and times it by ten,
Your wouldn't come close, not even then,
A billion perhaps, but keep adding one,
To equal her beauty, you will never be done.

I love you allie.

Thanks for entering and good luck in the contest! -
This was so sweet and beautiful. Loved how you compared your woman (allie, is it?) to all of the natural beauty in the world. Nice rhyming, not forced at all. Very captivating. Your allie is very lucky. Good luck in the contest!
